A biker was killed in a crash involving a combine harvester on the Wiltshire border.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision on the B3099 near Dilton Marsh, Westbury, at around 5pm yesterday (Tuesday, 22 August).
Avon and Somerset Police and Wiltshire Police both attended the scene alongside ambulance crews and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
A combine harvester, a BMW and a motorcycle were involved in the incident – with the motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, suffering significant injuries.
Despite the efforts of first responders at the scene, the man was pronounced dead at the location. His family has been informed and are being supported a family liaison officer.
The crash occurred approximately ten metres over the Wiltshire border into Somerset, meaning the investigation is being led by Avon and Somerset Police.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time and they are being offered support from a specially-trained family liaison officer.
“Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision, or have any relevant footage which can aid enquiries.
