A man has been arrested for attempted kidnap after a young boy was ‘approached’ in Swindon, according to Wiltshire Police.
Detectives are investigating an incident at a bus stop in Cricklade Road at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 26 October).
A man approached a young boy, who was with his family – leading to an arrest.
The 27-year-old man was held in custody on suspicion of attempted kidnap – but has since been released on bail while police continue to probe the circumstances.
“We do not believe there to have been a wider risk to the public”, a force spokesperson said.
Adding: “We are aware of posts circulating online about this incident and we would encourage the public not to speculate about it.
