A pursuit lasting only three miles ended in arrests in east Swindon in the early hours of this morning.
Police officers were responding to a break-in at a property in York Road at around 3am, but on arrival at the scene the suspects climbed back into their vehicle and left at speed.
A pursuit was authorised by senior officers, and with help of the police helicopter, three men were arrested when the chase came to an end in the Eldene area a short time later.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to reports of a break-in at an address on York Road at just before 3am today.
“Officers arrived and the suspects made off in a vehicle. Following a short pursuit, where the police helicopter was also used, three men (in their 20s) were located and arrested in the Eldene area.
“They are currently in custody while our enquiries continue.”
