Armed police have arrested a man who was ‘making threats with a gun’ in Swindon.
Firearms officers swarmed Chatfield, in Tadpole Garden Village, following reports of a domestic incident at an address on Friday afternoon (24 January).
Locals reported seeing several officers carrying rifles and wearing ballistic helmets as they watched a flat above Sainsbury’s Local.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that a 29-year-old man was arrested following the incident.
He was held in custody on suspicion of burglary, threats to kill, possession of an imitation firearm in a public place, criminal damage and harassment.
The force said that he was released on bail while an investigation continues.
