Armed police officers have this morning raided a property in Swindon’s Old Town.

A large number of officers gathered and prepared for the operation outside Tree Nightclub at 9.30am, before moving on to raid an address behind Dotty’s Cafe on Devizes Road.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers are investigating an ongoing incident in the Old Town area this morning.

“The investigation is still at its early stages but we have made five arrests in connection with the incident and these five people are currently in custody at Gablecross.”
