Armed police were deployed in Swindon after a teenager was spotted with a gun.
The incident was called to police on 999 at around 11.30am this morning (Wednesday), sparking firearms officers to get kitted up and rush to the scene – near the Oasis Leisure Centre.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to a call from a member of the public at about 11.30am who had reported a person with what appeared to be a handgun near the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.
“Firearms officers were deployed as a precaution and it was confirmed that there was no threat to the public.
“The reported firearm was a prop gun being used by a group of students who were filming in the area.
“No arrests were made and words of advice given.”
