Four people travelling in a car were arrested by armed police yesterday (Sunday, 22 October).
Firearms officers, supported by traffic units and a dog handler were involved in stopping a dark blue Audi in Horton Avenue, Devizes, shortly before 1pm.
The vehicle – linked to a serious assault in Chippenham – was surrounded and four occupants were dragged to the floor where they were arrested.
A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent in connection with the attack – which happened on Saturday afternoon. Further details are unknown.
He was also held on suspicion of possession of a class A drug and possession with intent to supply a class B drug.
The driver – a man aged in his 20s – was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drug driving, possession of a class C drug, possession with intent to supply a class A drug, and possession with intent to supply a class B drug.
A third man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug and possession with intent to supply a class B drug.
A woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and being concerned in the supply of a class B drug.
The Audi was seized by police and recovered by 2.45pm.
