Air ambulance lands alongside ‘serious crash’ on A303 Wiltshire

An air ambulance has landed for a ‘serious crash’ on the A303 in Wiltshire.

Emergency services were called to the major road between Deptford and Winterbourne Stoke at around 2.15pm this afternoon (Friday).

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance has touched down in a field close to Yarnbury Castle, alongside the incident.

The eastbound carraigeway is closed – and is likely to remain so for some time.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The A303 at Yarnbury Hill, Steeple Langford is currently blocked on the Eastbound carriageway due to a road traffic collision.

“The road will be closed for several hours. Please find alternative routes.”
