Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed for a serious incident at a local hospital today (Sunday).
Paramedics dealing with a medical emergency at Chippenham Community Hospital are thought to have requested help from the charity’s critical care medics.
The helicopter touched down in a field on St Luke’s Drive at 2.45pm – just metres from the scene.
Medics rushed to the hospital’s Minor Injuries Unit entrance as a rapid response ambulance travelling on blue lights and sirens arrived to provide additional support.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown, but police were not in attendance.
It’s unusual for an air ambulance team to be called to a hospital to provide emergency care.
