A road traffic collision has partially closed the A420 just outside Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to a head-on two-vehicle crash in Bristol Road at around midday today (Saturday).
A black Honda Jazz and a silver Hyundai i20 were involved in the incident outside the Esso service station in the Allington area.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was deployed to the scene after concerns were raised over a casualty’s neck injury.
However, the helicopter soon returned to its Melksham base and police believe that nobody has sustained any serious injuries.
The road is closed westbound from Bumpers Farm Roundabout – but remains open eastbound towards Chippenham.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire’s Police roads policing unit said: “Injuries not believed to be serious but we are maintaining a westbound closure from Bumpers Farm whilst paramedics see to those involved and recovery trucks clear the road.
“Please avoid the area for the time being.”
The busy A-road is likely to reopen before 2.30pm.
