The gaming world never stands still. 2025 and 2026 promise to be truly exciting years for video game fans.
Major studios and ambitious indie developers are preparing large-scale releases that could revolutionise genres, graphics and game mechanics. And while you’re keeping an eye on upcoming titles, it’s also worth exploring other forms of interactive entertainment — for example, checking out platforms with bonuses such as Stay Casino app download to see how modern online gaming combines excitement, strategy, and real rewards.
In this article, we’ve compiled a list of the most promising projects to keep an eye on.
Black Vultures
This will be a tactical shooter: survival, choice and brutal calculation. War leaves no room for mistakes. In this brutal first-person tactical shooter, you’ll fight in a dangerous conflict zone where trust is a luxury and every bullet counts. Choose wisely: each mission begins with a decision — attack, retreat, or find a way around. Combat isn’t always the best option, but the riskier the path, the more valuable the loot. Count your resources: ammunition, medicine, allies — everything is limited. Sometimes victory is simply survival.
Crimson Desert
A graphically rich MMORPG project with a large open world where different tribes will fight each other for power and control over the continent. Each tribe has a leader, and each leader has their own story.
In addition to all this, the game will also feature a single-player campaign filled with various quests. This project is also a long-term development, but it is already known that the game will be released in 2023.
Blight Survival
A third-person medieval action game with horror elements, where the story will unfold in an alternative world of the 14th century. The impressive trailer shows that the developers are trying to make the project more interesting thanks to the gameplay, where the main character will fight not only human enemies, but also zombie-like monsters. All of this will take place in a medieval atmosphere. You can play alone or in co-op mode, where up to four players will explore the ravaged lands and search for resources.
Ferocious
Another tactical first-person shooter about the encounter between humans and dinosaurs, where the events of the game throw the main character onto a tropical island.
According to the plot, a distress signal has been received from journalists, whom the main character must find and rescue. When he arrives at the scene, he discovers prehistoric creatures hunting humans on the island. The main character must use weapons to uncover why someone is trying to hide information about the island.
Exekiller
And here’s a game project that really surprised me with its trailer: Exekiller, a first-person action game in an unusual retro-futuristic Western style. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where we play the role of a mercenary earning a living in an unusual way. The developers note that the game will feature a non-linear storyline, a large selection of weapons and gadgets, as well as realistic weather changes and day and night cycles.
The player will roam an open desert world with canyons and fields in search of useful items and resources, completing both story and side quests.
Ill
A long-in-development first-person horror game from Russian developers. Numerous videos show that the developers are trying to make the project more atmospheric, realistic, and scary. This will be an adventure shooter inspired by Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Outlast. The game will tell a straightforward story where the main character will fight terrifying monsters. The project itself is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5 and will look quite realistic.
Animal Use Protocol
This will be a first-person shooter with an emphasis on story. The main character faces a constant threat from a terrifying creature that combines the features of various mutated animals. The player will have to hide, avoid traps, and use a gravity gun to solve various tasks, which adds an element of strategy to survival.
Clockwork Revolution
At Xbox Games Showcase 2025, inXile Entertainment (creators of Wasteland 3 and The Bard’s Tale) presented a new trailer for the long-awaited Clockwork Revolution, a role-playing shooter set in a steampunk world.
The game transports players to the dark but stunningly detailed city of Avalon, where technology, gears and secret conspiracies reign supreme.
What did the new trailer show?
- Visual style: Avalon looks both majestic and menacing — tall clock towers, steam engines, smoky streets, and hints of hidden social conflicts.
- Time mechanics: The main feature of the game is the ability to change the past and influence the future. For example, save a key character and see how the world around you transforms.
- Gameplay: A combination of RPG elements (leveling up, dialogue, choices) and a dynamic shooter with tactical possibilities.
- Plot: There are hints of a conspiracy by the time-controlling elite and the resistance that the main character is drawn into.
The developers promise a deeply detailed world (the studio’s signature style) and non-linearity — your decisions will truly change the course of the story. Plus, there’s a unique steampunk setting, which is rare for modern AAA games.
Everywhere
A game from the former head of Rokstar, which was presented at gamescom 2022. The trailer was impressive and, to be honest, I liked it. It will be an open-world project with two visual styles: realistic and cartoonish. It will be a large-scale AAA project with an open world and is being developed on the Unreal Engine 5. In the virtual sandbox, players will be able to create their own worlds and come up with their own stories. It would not be surprising if many of the game mechanics in Everywhere are copied from the Grand Theft Auto series.
Wronged Us
A third-person horror game in the vein of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Judging by the gameplay trailer, it will be a dark project with atmospheric and truly frightening locations. Little is known about the game, but the project itself has been in development for a long time.
As in similar games, in Wronged Us, players will not only have to face enemies, but also solve puzzles. Elements from The Last of Us attract particular attention to the game, namely: the design of the tasks, the characters, the setting and the atmosphere of Silent Hill. So this is one of the most anticipated horror projects of 2023.
Setting: An America you won’t recognise
- Slums instead of megacities – cities have turned into arenas of despair, where the gap between rich and poor has reached its limit.
- Civil unrest – anarchy reigns in the streets, and the authorities are sending elite SWAT units to suppress the riots.
Gameplay: tactics, planning and intense firefights
- The role of a SWAT operative – players must complete a story campaign, making difficult decisions in conditions of total chaos.
- Mission planning system: before each sortie, you can work out tactics, assign roles within the squad and prepare for the unexpected.
- 8-player multiplayer: in addition to the story, there are intense PvP battles where victory depends on teamwork.
- Convenient controls – the developers are focusing on responsiveness and realism without overcomplicating the mechanics. The game promises a dark atmosphere, a well-developed tactical component, and dynamic firefights with an emphasis on realism. If you’re a fan of SWAT 4, Ready or Not, or Rainbow Six, this game is worth adding to your wishlist.
Cronos the New Dawn
This will be a third-person horror game set in a post-apocalyptic future that emerged as a result of a cataclysm called the Change. The plot centres on a Wanderer, an agent of a mysterious organisation who travels to 1980s Poland in search of important people to move their essences through time.
Mudang: Two Hearts
MUDANG: Two Hearts was announced at Xbox Games Showcase 2025. It is a dark third-person tactical action game set in the near future against the backdrop of the reunification of the Korean peninsula. The story begins in parliament on the day of the vote on Korean reunification. Soon, a virus breaks out in Seoul, turning people into aggressive creatures. The main character is North Korean special forces soldier Ji Jong-tae, who must uncover the conspiracy. Unexpectedly, his fate intersects with that of GAVI, the second playable character. The gameplay offers flexibility: stealth, close combat or open confrontation. The levels encourage improvisation — you can sneak through ventilation shafts, set up ambushes or attack head-on. Enemies adapt to the player’s style. The developers at EVR Studio emphasise realism: the animations were created with the participation of Korean special forces. The project promises a dark story of betrayal and unexpected alliances.
Dying Light The Beast
The game is set in a completely new location called the Castorian Woods, full of natural attractions, small settlements and industrial complexes. This means that there will be plenty of space to explore in the game. In addition to the main storyline, there will also be side quests.
The plot tells the story of Kyle Crane, the main character of the first part, who survived years of experiments and escaped to freedom. The developers emphasise that the project was originally conceived as a story addition to Dying Light 2, but during development it gained the status of a standalone game.
Rooted
A third-person survival simulator on Unreal. The game takes place 20 years after a bacteriological war. The main character will have to do everything to feed and protect himself. Learn a craft to obtain food. You will also have the opportunity to find an animal to train in hunting and defence. The developers promise an interesting and unusual gameplay with a variety of features that have not yet been seen in any similar project of this genre.
GTA 6
This is the most anticipated game of the decade, which is set to revolutionise open-world and story-driven action games. Developed by Rockstar Games, it promises to be a new milestone in the genre, combining the signature style of the series with incredible technological innovations.
Dual protagonists and multiple storylines. This will not be just a sequel, but an evolution of the genre, with the most detailed open world, well-developed characters, and endless possibilities for chaos. If GTA V became a cult classic, then GTA 6 has every chance of redefining the standards of the gaming industry.
