Police have launched a probe after a man was ‘seen walking a dog naked’ in Wiltshire.
Several incidents have occurred in Bentley Wood, near Winterslow, south-east of Salisbury, over the past few weeks.
Wiltshire Police are investigating, with witnesses to his behaviour asked to reach out.
It is legal to be naked in public in the UK, provided you have no intention to cause alarm or distress.
This means someone can be nude in a public place without breaking the law, as long as their behaviour is not threatening, sexual, or intended to shock others.
However, if a person deliberately sets out to upset or provoke others by being naked, they could be committing an offence under laws such as outraging public decency or indecent exposure.
The exact circumstances of this case are unclear at this stage.
“We are appealing for witnesses after a man was seen walking his dog naked in Bentley Wood, Winterslow”, a force spokesperson said.
Adding: “This is thought to have happened on a number of occasions in recent weeks.
