A car driver has been arrested after a fatal crash involving three bikers on A303.
Emergency services were called to the major route in the Charnage area, near Mere, at around 10.30am on Sunday morning (29 June).
A Citroen C5 was travelling east along the single carriageway section of the busy A-road when it collided with three motorcycles.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance both attended.
One motorcyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene.
A second motorcyclist sustained life changing injuries, and the third was uninjured.
The driver of the car – a man aged in his 60s – has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving. He remains in custody.
