A man has been charged with attempting to murder two people with a car in Salisbury.
Emergency services responded to reports of a man and woman being struck by a blue Ford Focus in South Western Road on Thursday (27 March).
The vehicle involved was driving away from the scene and dumped around one mile away – in Lower Road. It was later forensically recovered.
Both casualties – Jamie Barney, aged in his 40s, and Emily Stockwell, aged in her 20s, – were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
A manhunt was launched for the suspect, Braden Lynam, and he was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The 22-year-old, of Woodborough Close, Trowbridge, has since been charged with the offences – and remanded in police custody.
He is due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).
