Home Exchange helps family move into dream Wanborough home

A couple have moved into their dream home at Redlands Grove in Wanborough after using Vistry Group’s Home Exchange scheme.

Courtnay and Max Robinson fell in love with their new four-bedroom home, built under Vistry’s Bovis Homes brand, earlier this year. They moved in on Friday 27 September along with their two daughters – three-year-old Willow and two-year-old CeCe – and cats Rocco and Coco.

They knew they had outgrown their old three-bedroom place, and the new Bovis Homes Chestnut house type offered everything they wanted.

They ended up using the housebuilder’s Home Exchange scheme to get things moving quickly and to secure the home they loved, moving in just seven weeks after making their reservation.

Courtnay said: “Using the part exchange scheme made it so much easier, and it gave us peace of mind that we could get in the house we wanted.”

They also used the Own New Rate Reducer scheme which gives purchasers of selected new-build homes a lower interest rate on their mortgage for an initial period. Courtnay said: “It meant that affordability-wise we could be more comfortable each month than if we hadn’t used it.”

Their new home has a large kitchen/dining/family room with patio doors leading to the garden, a separate lounge, and a study, while the main bedroom has an en suite shower room.

Courtnay said: “We loved everything about the house. We host quite a lot, and the kitchen/dining room is great. It has a beautiful entrance hallway, and the banister will be perfect for Christmas garlands.”

They like the area, which is within easy reach of the shops and within walking distance of some nice country pubs. It is only 10 minutes from their previous home and so there is little change to their commutes as both work in Swindon. Courtnay is a social, emotional and mental health learning support assistant and Max is a user interface design manager.

With the help of the Bovis Homes sales team their purchase progressed swiftly.

“They were absolutely flawless – phenomenal,” said Courtnay. “From the first time we went in to see them all those months ago to moving in and the follow-up care, it has been outstanding, and I have nothing but positive comments. I can’t express enough how wonderful they have been or how grateful I am. Nothing was too much trouble.”

Now they are enjoying a more relaxed life because the house makes everything so much easier. Courtnay explained that the downstairs layout makes it simple to keep an eye on the children as the open-plan kitchen/dining/family space means they can play there within easy sight of the kitchen area.

With a study downstairs it means that Max is not having to move his work from dining table to living room and back again as he would need to do in their old house but has a dedicated space for whenever he works at home.

And with more than one toilet in the house including a downstairs cloakroom it makes things easier with small children and for when guests visit. Plus, with an extra bedroom they can comfortably have friends and family to stay over now.

They are also happy to be in a brand-new property that no-one else has lived in and that needs no repairs or changes.

Now the couple are looking forward to hosting family and friends for birthdays, Halloween and Christmas.

Courtnay said: “I feel way more relaxed because nothing needs to be done here, and the children are happier. It’s made life as a family a lot easier. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I’ve never been so sure of anything – apart from Max and the children of course!”
