A bus has been destroyed in a fire in Malmesbury this afternoon (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called to the A429 Burton Hill at around 4.30pm.

A Coachstyle bus caught fire outside Malmesbury Primary Care Centre.

Firefighters remained on scene at 5.20pm as that dampen down the vehicle – with police having closed the road.

Nobody is believed to have been injured. It’s not clear if there were any passengers on board at the time, but the driver was able to alight before the blaze took hold.

The A-road could remain closed, or partially blocked, for several hours.

Delays are building in the area – with Google Maps indicating slow or stationary traffic on the approach to the incident for numerous directions.
