A Wiltshire firefighter has had their moped stolen after attending a serious incident.

It’s believed the emergency worker was attending the blaze at Hills Waste Solutions near Calne before the theft this morning (Monday).

The on-call crew manager, who is based out of Devizes Fire Station, uses their Neco GPX moped to mobilise when 999 calls come in locally.

The vehicle was stolen from the Broadleas area of the town at around 4.45am.

In a statement, a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Sadly, after attending a fire in Calne last night until the early hours, one of our Crew Managers had their moped stolen.

“This is their primary vehicle for responding to the station for emergency call-outs.

“The registration number is WR71 0XN.

“If anyone has any information about the incident or the mopeds whereabouts, please contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or the fire station.”
