UPDATE: Parents pay tribute to son, 8, killed in Dilton Marsh crash >

An eight-year-old boy has been killed in a crash in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Emergency services rushed to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Woodland View, Dilton Marsh, at around 4:30pm yesterday (Saturday, 13 April).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was scrambled alongside a significant number of ambulances service resources – and efforts were made to save the youngster’s life.

Despite that, the boy – aged 8 – was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by a specialist officer.

“Our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time”, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said.

They added: “A man in his 30s is being interviewed, as is usual in these circumstances.

“Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam are asked to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 218 of yesterday’s date (13/04).

“Alternatively, you can contact the team directly by emailing [email protected].”
