A man’s been injured in a head-on collision on the A342 near Calne tonight.

Emergency services were called to the busy main road in the Sandy Lane area at around 6pm today, following reports of a large van and a car being involved in a crash.

Firefighters from Calne Fire Station attended the scene, stabilising the van while paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service assess the driver.

Luckily, no one was seriously hurt in the crash.

A spokesperson for Calne Fire station said: “The roads are treacherous out, avoid all journeys unless absolutely necessary and drive to meet the conditions.

“Great teamwork with Wiltshire Police, Calne Police and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust who are all working hard throughout this weather to keep Wiltshire safe.”
