Hundreds of people gathered for a rave in Wiltshire over the weekend.

Police were called to the Teffont area, near Salisbury, on Saturday night (30 September).

On arrival, officers found approximately 400 people – with 250 vehicles – attending a rave.

More than 12 hours later, Wiltshire Police confirmed that most of those on site had left the area.

The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bournemouth also attended the incident – circling Teffont and the A36.

Officers arrested two males, aged in their 30s, at the scene.

One man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a class A drug, whilst the other was held in custody on suspicion of theft.

Footage filmed at the event showed revellers dancing on as police officers walked around a barn.

In an update on Sunday morning (1 October), Detective Chief Superintendent Ben Mant said he was concerned about the impact the rave has had on the local community.

He said: “We would like to reassure residents that the situation is being monitored and a number of road closures were put in place on roads in the local area to prevent further cars attending.

“Around 100-200 people are still on the scene with about 70 vehicles.

“The group have been served a Section 63 order directing them to leave the site.”
