A motorcyclist crashed into a roundabout ditch because ‘she didn’t see it’.
Police were called to a road traffic collision on Chequers Roundabout, on the A350 in Chippenham, at around 9pm this evening (Thursday).
A female motorcyclist failed to navigate the busy junction, crashing her vehicle into a deep ditch located in the middle of the roundabout.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
A fellow biker at the scene told Wiltshire 999s that the woman was ‘not local and didn’t see the roundabout’ – that despite two large green signs displaying roundabouts on the approach.
He argued that the signage on the roundabout was damaged from a previous collision, as reported back in November last year when a pick-up truck ended up in the ditch.
The blue motorcycle was recovered from the ditch by numerous bikers and taken to a nearby car park.
