A Wiltshire ambulance man has been charged with repeatedly raping a teenage boy.

James Morrison, who up until recently volunteered as a first responder for South Western Ambulance Service, appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today (Friday).

Across four charges of rape, the 31-year-old, of Avonfield Holt, Trowbridge, is accused of attacking the same youngster at least 12 times over a one-month period in 2022.

He also faces allegations of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity.

Due to charges of rape being indictable only, the case was sent to Salisbury Crown Court on 19 July – where he is expected to enter his pleas.

The defendant was released on bail with conditions including not to contact the complainant and witnesses in the case, or have unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Alleged victims of sexual crimes have the right to lifelong anonymity. It is an imprisonable criminal offence to share any piece of information that could lead to their identification.
