The driver of a car who caused a head-on crash in Swindon fled the scene on foot.

The Fiat Diablo was overtaking another vehicle when it ploughed head-on into a Seat in Mead Way at around 8.40pm on Friday (18 November).

Emergency services were called to the scene and the occupants of the Seat were treated for injuries described as minor by Wiltshire Police.

The occupants of the Fiat fled the scene on foot – sparking a manhunt.

A police dog attended the area and extensive searches were conducted but unfortunately, the occupants were not located.

A force spokesperson said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who was travelling in the area who may have dash cam footage relevant to our investigation to get in touch.

“If you can help, please call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220122120. Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
