Road in Swindon closed both directions after crash involving car and motorcycle

A road in Swindon has been closed in both directions following a crash involving a motorcycle.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Ferndale Road at around 11am today (Saturday, 20 August).

According to local residents, a car and a motorcycle were involved in the road traffic collision.

The road is blocked between Cheney Manor Road and Northern Road, with police asking motorists to avoid the area.

It’s not yet been confirmed whether anyone’s been seriously hurt, but two ambulances and numerous police vehicles are in attendance.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that Ferndale Road in Swindon is currently closed following a road traffic collision.

“Drivers are asked to seek alternative routes.”
