A zombie knife was found when a gang of youths were stopped by police in Swindon yesterday.

The group, reportedly seen riding bicycles around the area between the West Swindon District Centre and Toothill on a number of occasions, were reported to police.

On arrival, officers stopped some of the group near to the entrance of the Link Centre fun fair ran by Steven Hill and discovered one to be carrying a large knife with a blade of around 12 inches (30cm).

The deadly weapon, understood to be a zombie knife, was seized and the 14-year-old boy was arrested.

Generally, zombie knives have serrated edges and are designed to inflict significant internal injuries.

The group had not been customers of the fun fair prior to the stop and search.
