A horse was at the centre of a brief neigh-bourhood drama after getting loose in Calne.
Wiltshire Police received a report of the animal roaming in Dew Way on Friday (28 August).
Officers worked with local residents and the horse’s owner to rein in the situation and get the animal back where it belonged.
The unexpected horsing around was soon brought to an end, with the horse successfully returned to its paddock.
Police praised the response from those involved, describing it as a good example of residents and officers working together to resolve an unusual situation.
In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “On Friday 28 August, we received a report of a loose horse in Dew Way.
“Thankfully, with the assistance of local residents and the horse’s owner, the horse was safely returned to its paddock.
“A great example of residents and the police working together to resolve an unusual situation quickly and safely.”
