A person has died after being struck by a freight train in Warminster.
Emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks near the railway station at around 9.30pm on Thursday evening (23 July).
Wiltshire Police and the British Transport Police (BTP) unit responded alongside ambulance crews, an air ambulance critical care car and a fire engine.
A person, whose age and sex has not been confirmed, was declared dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the BTP said that the incident is “not being treated as suspicious”.
They confirmed that a file is being prepared for the coroner.
