A man has been shot in a Swindon street – as a suspect is arrested by armed police.
Emergency services were called to reports of a shooting in St Paul’s Street, Gorse Hill, shortly before 9pm on Friday night (19 June).
A man, aged in his 30s, sustained a gunshot wound and was treated by critical care medics from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance.

The casualty was rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol in a serious but stable condition.
Armed police were swiftly deployed to Queens Drive, where firearms officers surrounded a house. They made entry and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

In a statement, Detective Inspector Sara Cobb said: “We responded to reports of a gunshot being fired in St Paul’s Street, Gorse Hill just before 9pm this evening (19/06).
“A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital with a suspected gunshot wound. His condition is described as serious but stable.
“A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder from an address in Queens Drive.
“A cordon is in place at both locations while officers carry out their investigation.
