Firefighters raced to tackle a shed blaze in a Wiltshire village on Thursday (2 April).
Emergency services were called to the scene in Netheravon, with three fire crews from two counties dispatched to battle the raging flames.
While responding to the incident, firefighters were informed that there were multiple cylinders inside the structure – which could explode if heated.
Pumps from Marlborough and Amesbury in Wiltshire and third from Andover in Hampshire attended the fire.
The cylinders were safely removed to cool down and monitored, while crews worked to put out the blaze – which burnt the shed to the ground.
Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to stop the flames. Their efforts meant the fire did not spread to other sheds situated in close proximity.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Marlborough, Amesbury and Andover were mobilised to a shed fire in Netheravon.
“En route to the incident it was confirmed cylinders were inside the shed. These were removed and effectively cooled down and monitored.
“The fire was extinguished using 2 Breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets. Crews checked the adjoining sheds for fire spread thankfully these were unaffected.”
