An electric motorcycle has been seized by Wiltshire Police following a series of reports of anti-social behaviour in Amesbury.
The force said it received numerous calls about the illegal vehicle being ridden in the town centre, Archers Gate and Kings Gate estates.
The rider was reported to have mounted pavements, ridden through retail outlets, abused pedestrians and narrowly missed members of the public.
Officers saw the electric motorcycle being ridden through Amesbury town centre on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 February.
They managed to stop the rider in the Central Car Park moments later.
Wiltshire Police said the vehicle was not compliant for road use due to its manufacturing characteristics and had been further illegally adapted.
It was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 for having no insurance and will now be destroyed.
Police have reminded the public that it is not currently possible to obtain private insurance for e-scooters and unregistered electric motorcycles.
This means their use is illegal on roads or in public spaces such as parks, street pavements and shopping centres.
Officers also warned that if serious harm is caused while riding an e-scooter or electric motorcycle, the incident will be investigated in the same way as if the rider was using a motorcycle or driving a car.
