An illegal e-scooter has been seized by police in Amesbury after officers stopped a rider on Monday (26 January).
Wiltshire Police said local officers sighted the e-scooter being ridden along Jaggard View and brought it to a stop.
The scooter was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 after checks found it had no insurance.
The rider, from Maple Way, was also reported for riding on an expired provisional licence.
Police confirmed the e-scooter will now be destroyed.
The force said e-scooters and unregistered e-motorbikes are classed as motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Act 1988.
Officers said it is not currently possible to obtain insurance for privately owned e-scooters. This means they are illegal to use on roads or in public places.
Police said this includes parks, pavements and shopping centres.
They added that if someone causes serious harm while riding an e-scooter or e-motorbike, the incident will be investigated in the same way as a collision involving a motorcycle or car.
Owners were reminded that e-scooters can only be used on private land, such as a garden. Permission must be given by the landowner before riding.
