Major tailbacks as vehicle overturns in crash on A419 in Swindon

There are major tailbacks following a road traffic collision on the A419 in Swindon.

Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway just before Blunsdon at around 7am this morning (Tuesday).

A vehicle overturned in a crash, causing police to initially close the road.

However, traffic is now moving past the scene – with only one lane closed.

This is causing motorists delays, with traffic backed up to White Hart Roundabout.

A second crash has also occurred at the bottom of the Blunsdon Bypass, causing further traffic issues.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are asking motorists to avoid the A419 following a multiple vehicle collision on towards Cirencester.

“We will provide updates when possible.”
