A man has collapsed and died at a Swindon fuel station on New Year’s Eve.
Emergency services raced to reports of a casualty in cardiac arrest at around 3.15pm on Wednesday (31 December).
The incident happened on the Asda fuel station forecourt off Corton Crescent, part of the West Swindon District Centre.
A man, aged in his 60s, collapsed – sparking a significant 999 response.
According to eyewitnesses, there were three ambulance vehicles and five police vehicles parked at the scene. The area was cordon off while work was ongoing to revive the man.
Despite the best efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that there are “not believed to be any suspicious circumstances”.
“Our thoughts are with his family”, they added.
The fuel station remained closed following the incident.
