A lorry has smashed into a wall in a busy Wiltshire town High Street.

Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision on the A3102 in Royal Wootton Bassett at around 1.30pm today (Wednesday).

A HGV appears to have left the road, crossed a pavement and ploughed into a wall close to the police station and Esso fuel station.

Police are in attendance – with officers directing traffic past the scene in stop-go fashion. There are significant delays in both directions.

The driver was left shaken, but did not require medical treatment.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Royal Wootton Bassett High Street has been closed after a lorry has collided with a wall.

“The stretch of road closed is from the Cox Stalls roundabout to the Lime Kiln traffic lights.

“Thankfully, there have been no reported injuries.”
