A man with knife has been taken to hospital after being arrested in Chippenham.
Police were called to an incident on the A4 Bath Road at around 11am this morning (Monday).
Officers located a man – arresting him on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
A short time later, the suspect was seen lying on the ground at the entrance to the Esso service station.
Police coned off the entrance as they awaited an ambulance for the man – remaining on scene at 1.30pm.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the suspect was “taken to hospital initially as a precaution”.
Once checked over and cleared by doctors, he’ll be taken to custody for questioning.
More about what occurred in the lead up to the man’s arrest is unclear.
