A 19-year-old motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Cricklade Road, near St Luke’s Academy, at around 7.15pm on Thursday evening (25 September).
The incident involved a grey Cupra and a 125cc motorbike, which was displaying L-plates. The Cupra appeared on the wrong side of the road following head-on impact.

The biker, a 19-year-old man, was treated by police officers and paramedics on scene – before deteriorating and requiring more specialist care.
As such, Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was dispatched at around 8pm. The helicopter touched down just metres from the serious smash, in a nearby field.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Wiltshire Police say they are not believed to be life-changing.
The force also confirmed that no arrests were made. However, no details about the circumstances or who was at fault have been revealed.

South Western Ambulance Service told Wiltshire 999s that the young rider was taken to the Great Western Hospital for further care.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended, with one crew from Swindon assisting with “scene safety and making the vehicles safe”.
