An 17-year-old man’s been seriously hurt in a confirmed stabbing at a primary school.
Police officers and paramedics, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were called to Eldene Nursery and Primary School at around 4pm this afternoon, to reports of the serious incident.
The teenager suffered serious injuries at the scene and was taken to Great Western Hospital with stab wounds, according to South western Ambulance Service.
A forensic investigation officer was at the scene until around 6.30pm, taking photographs of various scenes around the primary school site.
Armed response vehicles were seen circling the Eldene and Park South area for some time.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called by the ambulance service at approximately 4.10pm today to a report of a serious assault which had occurred near Eldene Primary School, Collingsmead.
“An 17-year-old man has sustained serious injuries and has been taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment. Enquiries are currently ongoing.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101.”
The school have issued a statement to parents stating that the incident did not involving any children or teachers.
