At least 15 fire engines are in attendance of a major blaze at a pub in rural Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to a serious fire at The Crown Inn in Alvediston, 11 miles southwest of Salisbury, at around 5.15pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
It’s understood the popular village pub – which has a thatched roof – is well alight, with around 60 firefighters on scene to tackle to flames.
Thatch fires require a significant number of resources to extinguish and control; fire crews are likely to remain at the incident for the coming 48 hours.
