A man’s been arrested after assaulting a security officer at Great Western Hospital.
An eyewitness said two security staff were shepherding the ‘zombie-looking’ man away from the hospital at around midday before he spat at them – allegedly hitting one officer with saliva.
‘It looked like he was on drugs and couldn’t talk properly’, the shocked passerby commented.
The security officers detained the man on the ground, with police arriving a short time later.
The man, in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of common assault and taken to Gablecross custody.
