The police are expected to launch an investigation after a dog attacked a child in Swindon.
The terrifying incident happened in Penhill at around 11.30am this morning (12 September).
A mother claims she was walking with her son in the Downton Road area when they passed a woman with two dogs – which were both on leads.
As they passed, one of the animals – thought to be a German shepherd – jumped towards the youngster and bit him on his stomach.
She claims her son was ‘screaming with blood coming through his t-shirt’ following the attack – but the dog owner allegedly left the scene without providing her details.
The boy was taken to hopsital, where doctors treated him for a single puncture wound, with several scratches on top of it.
Wiltshire Police has been informed – with an investigation expected to start imminently.
