A Wroughton man has denied attempting to kidnap a woman – and a trial date has been set.
Ashley Froment appeared at Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 3 January.
The 34-year-old, of Coventry Close, faces an allegation of attempted kidnap.
The alleged incident – involving a young woman – is said to have taken place on 23 November last year.
The charge states that he “unlawfully and by force or fraud attempted to take or carry away [the alleged victim] against her will”.
The defendant entered a not guilty plea and will face a three-day trial on 8 December.
Froment was released on bail with conditions not to contact the alleged victim and to live and sleep at his address.
He will also be monitored by a GPS tag, with a curfew between 8pm and 7am daily.
