A woman has been charged with stabbing her father in Bradford on Avon.
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious assault at a property in Baileys Barn on Sunday evening (20 October).
A man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital with knife wounds – which Wiltshire Police say are not life-threatening or life-changing.
26-year-old Natasha Powell was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on her father, David Powell.
At Salisbury Magistrates’ Court yesterday (22 October), she pleaded not guilty to the offence – claiming she carried out the stabbing in self-defence.
The bench allowed her bail with various conditions, including not to have contact with the victim.
Powell, who is a mother, must remain at her address in Baileys Barn – where the incident took place – between 6pm and 6am daily, and will be monitored by a GPS ankle bracelet.
The defendant is due to appear before Salisbury Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 20 November.
