A woman is fighting for her life after a ‘hit and run’ crash in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to a suspected road traffic collision involving a pedestrian in Dorcan Way in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
The woman, whose age has not been confirmed, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Wiltshire Police believed she was struck by a car, which left the scene following impact. Officers are now working to trace the vehicle involved.
“It may be that the driver may be unaware they have struck someone”, a spokesperson for the force said.
Adding: “Officers are appealing for the driver to contact them as a matter of urgency.”

A full-scale forensic collision investigation is underway, with the road closed in both directions between The Drive and Edison Business Park / Morrisons roundabout.
The spokesperson continued: “Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.
“Officers are also appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have dash cam footage taken from the area between 4am and 6am this morning to contact them as soon as possible.
“Witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have relevant dash cam footage, are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 46 of 8th November.
