A woman has died and two others have suffered life-threatening injuries in an M4 crash.
Emergency services were called to the motorway westbound in Swindon shortly before midday today (Saturday) following reports of a single-vehicle collision.
A grey Volvo S40 left the carriageway and struck a tree close to the Mill Lane overbridge – situated between junctions 15 and 16.
The front seat passenger, a woman aged in her 60s from Oxford, died at the scene.
The male driver and a female passenger, aged in their 20s, have both been taken to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in a life threatening condition.
A male passenger, aged in his 30s, sustained an arm injury.
Specially-trained officers are supporting the next of kin of those involved, Wiltshire Police confirmed.
