A woman has died in a horror crash with a lorry on the A303 near Stonehenge.
Emergency services, including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, were called to a road traffic collision at around 10am this morning (Tuesday).
The fatal incident involved a livestock lorry and a silver Land Rover Discovery Sport.
The driver of the car, a woman aged in her 60s from Bath, was declared deceased at the scene.
Wiltshire Police said that her next of kin has been informed and they are being supported by a specially-trained officer.
“Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time”, a force spokesperson said.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured, and nobody has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A forensic collision investigation is ongoing at the scene and is expected to continue into darkness.
The road is closed between Countess Roundabout and Longbarrow Roundabout, and is expected to remain shut until late tonight or tomorrow morning.
