A woman has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and assaulting a police officer after an incident in Swindon town centre this morning.

At approximately 6.50am this morning, police officers were called to a domestic incident in Whitehead Street, in which a man in his 30s sustained a wound to his hand.

The road and two connecting alleyways were closed by police this morning.

Local resident, Boris Nukelb said: “Walked through those alleys this morning saw a small puddle of blood as well as a towel completely soaked in it a bit further down.”

The 27-year-old woman arrested is in custody.

The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital.
