A woman’s been arrested when officers carried out a drugs raid in Swindon.
Early yesterday morning, officers carried out a warrant at an address in Walcot in response to community concerns over possible illegal activity taking place at the address.
Officers carried out a forced entry to the property in Lennox Drive under the Misuse of Drugs Act at about 5am and made a single arrest at the scene.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs, she has since been released under investigation.
Sgt Richard Tottle said: “We carried out the warrant in response to concerns from the community that there may have been illegal drug activity taking place on the premises. Those living nearby may have seen armed officers, who were deployed as a precautionary measure.
“I would like to reassure the residents of Lennox Drive and the wider community that we will do whatever is necessary to ensure our town remains a safe place to work and live, and I would like to also take this opportunity to thank the community for their continued support.”
