UPDATE: Woman killed in head-on horror crash near Wiltshire village
A Wiltshire village high street has reopened 12 hours after a serious crash.
Emergency services were called to Worton at around 7pm on Wednesday (23 July).
Three vehicles were involved in a road traffic collision, which left one person with significant injuries. A forensic collision investigation was carried out.
The road was closed in both directions between Mill Road and Poulshot Road overnight – but it reopened at around 7am this morning (Thursday).
In a statement at the time, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service wrote: “We are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision on High Street, Worton with other emergency services.
“The road is likely to be closed for some hours so please avoid the area.”
Wiltshire Police issued a road closure notice on social media at around 5.30am.
It read: “Road closures are in place following a road traffic collision on High St, Worton. Three vehicles were involved in the collision near to the junction with Mill Road.
“The closures are likely to be in place until around 7am. Please seek alternative routes.”
