Wiltshire Search and Rescue has been deployed to help a local hospital in the snow.
Specially trained volunteers have been called out to support Great Western Hospital this evening (Saturday) – with 4×4 vehicles sent to assist.
In a statement, a charity spokesperson said: “Team requested to activate 4×4 plan to support Great Western Hospitals during the snow.
“Our off-road drivers are being tasked to get community midwives to obstetric emergencies in the community.
“Each vehicle also has a qualified team paramedic, doctor or casualty carer, who will handle navigation and communications in transit and be an extra pair of hands if required.”
