Wiltshire Police’s most loveable due need new electric bikes – can you help?

Police community support officers (PCSOs) Kate Jackson and Lee Hare spend as much time as they can out and about patrolling the north of Swindon on their bicycles.

In recent years, the pair famous for their amusing videos, have worn out their existing electric bikes and they now need replacing.

The force has its eyes set on two e-bikes with a longer range, meaning Kate and Lee could spend even more time riding around town and disrupting criminal activity.

Though the powerful new bikes come with a hefty price tag – £2,700 each.

Parish councillor Vince Williams decided to try and help fund the bikes for the PCSOs by setting up a Go Fund Me fundraiser.

“I hope you’ll agree that Lee and Kate provide us with a great local service with high visibility and regular bike patrols around our St Andrews community”, he began.

Continuing: “Their current e-bikes are well used, but lack the power and range needed to cover their designated patrol area. They have already identified suitable replacement models and negotiated a substantial discount with a supplier, now they just need to raise enough funds to go out and buy them.

“I’ve started this GoFundMe fundraiser so that members of our community can show their support for the great work Lee and Kate do for us and make it easier for them to help us keep this community and it’s residents safe.”
